If you have a Quooker CUBE system, the water filter is an essential component. This guide explains how the filter works, when to replace it, and how to maintain your CUBE water quality.

Does Every Quooker System Need a Filter?

Only Quooker CUBE systems require a filter. The CUBE filters water before chilling and carbonating it. Standard Quooker boiling water systems (without CUBE) do not require a filter — the boiling process naturally kills bacteria and the water quality depends on your mains supply.

How the CUBE Filter Works

The AC-HF filter cartridge is installed between your cold water supply and the CUBE unit. It contains activated carbon that:

Reduces chlorine taste and odour
Removes sediment and particulate matter
Improves the taste of both still and sparkling water
Reduces limescale deposits in the CUBE system

When to Replace the Filter

Recommended replacement: every 6 months
Signs it's time to replace: reduced water flow, noticeable chlorine taste, or the CUBE indicating a filter change
Filter lifespan: approximately 1,000 litres of filtered water

How to Replace the AC-HF Filter

Turn off the water supply to the CUBE system
Disconnect the old filter cartridge by pressing the release button and pulling the fitting
Connect the new AC-HF cartridge in the same orientation (arrow direction = water flow direction)
Turn the water supply back on
Flush 5 litres of water through the CUBE before drinking (to remove any carbon dust from the new filter)

The replacement takes approximately 5 minutes and requires no tools.

Other Quooker Water Treatment Options

Even without CUBE, some Quooker owners choose to add an inline water filter for improved taste. The standard Quooker AC-HF filter can be installed inline on the cold water supply to your tap, reducing chlorine and improving water quality for all cold water use.

Compatibility

The AC-HF filter cartridge is compatible with all Quooker CUBE systems. It is also compatible with standard Quooker boiling water systems when used as an inline filter.

Filter care

When to replace filters and what they do

Filters are consumables — replacing them on schedule keeps chilled and sparkling water tasting right and protects the reservoir in hard-water regions. Filters are separate from the CUBE itself and from other Quooker accessories.

CUBE carbon filter

Replace roughly every 12 months. Purpose: removes chlorine and taste impurities before chilling and carbonation.

Scale filter (hard-water regions)

Recommended on the cold-water supply to the reservoir in hard-water regions. Extends reservoir life.

Not a filter: CO₂ cylinder

CO₂ cylinders for the CUBE are ordered directly via Quooker's exchange programme, not on Watertap.eu.

Replace a Quooker filter in 5 minutes (Quooker filter vervangen)

The same six steps apply to the CUBE carbon cartridge, the Cold Water Filter AC/HF and Scale Control. No tools are needed and the tap stays in place — you only work on the unit inside the cabinet.

Step 1
Order the matching genuine cartridge
Use the compatibility table below to identify the cartridge for your reservoir, CUBE or cold-water filter. Genuine Quooker cartridges only — third-party filters void the warranty.
Step 2
Close the cold-water shut-off valve
Turn the shut-off valve on the cold-water supply in the cabinet to the closed position. The reservoir can stay switched on; you are not opening the hot circuit.
Step 3
Release the pressure
Open the cold tap briefly until the water stops running so no residual pressure remains on the filter housing.
Step 4
Twist out the old cartridge
Rotate the cartridge a quarter turn (usually anticlockwise) and pull it straight down out of the head. Keep a cloth underneath — a small amount of water will drain.
Step 5
Fit the new cartridge
Push the new cartridge into the head and turn a quarter turn until it locks. Check the seal is seated and the date label is written on the housing.
Step 6
Reopen the valve and flush
Open the shut-off valve, then run filtered water for about one minute to flush carbon dust. Note the date: replace again after 12 months or roughly 5 000 litres.

Filter compatibility per Quooker setup

Which cartridge belongs to which combination of Quooker tap, reservoir and CUBE. All taps (Flex, Fusion Round, Fusion Square, Front, Nordic and Classic) use the same cartridges — the filter is determined by the reservoir and CUBE under the sink, not by the spout. It takes roughly five minutes and needs no tools.

The CUBE carbon block filter is replaced after 12 months or about 5 000 litres, whichever comes first. A Scale Control filter on the reservoir supply typically lasts 6 to 12 months depending on local water hardness.

An exhausted carbon filter no longer removes taste and odour, so chilled and sparkling water start tasting flat or chlorinated. In hard-water areas a saturated scale filter also lets limescale reach the reservoir, which shortens its life.
