These tips help you use your Quooker safely and efficiently for years. Read them once at start-up and keep them handy for family and guests.

Drawing boiling water safely

The Quooker knob must be pressed twice: once to unlock, once to draw. The action is deliberately different from a mixer tap so children cannot accidentally draw 100 °C water.

  • Turn and push simultaneously to unlock.
  • Hold the knob down until you have enough water — release to stop.
  • Boiling water comes out as a fine, hissing spray — this is normal.

Daily routine

The tap stays on so boiling water is always available. Switching off is not necessary, not even for short absences — the reservoir uses only ~10 W at rest.

Maintenance

Wipe the tap with a soft cloth and mild detergent. Never use abrasives or vinegar on the coating. In hard-water areas, descale the spout periodically with a Quooker-safe descaler.

Holidays and long absences

Unplug when away for more than a week. On return, plug back in and wait about 20 minutes for the reservoir to reach temperature.
